Vera LeFranc, Program Co-ordinator
Vera has been working with community organizations for over 20 years, primarily in program design and development, women’s programs, employability programs and poverty reduction. Vera now manages the Surrey Homelessness and Housing Fund, working with the Surrey Homelessness and Housing Society to grow the Fund, distribute the fund, and to lead community initiatives that are aimed at reducing homelessness and increasing access to housing.
Prior to coming to the Foundation, Vera was working with the Pat Graney Company, assisting to develop programming for women leaving prison who are re-entering society, based on the highly successful “Keeping the Faith” program, an arts-based internship that Pat Graney has been providing for women in prison for the past 14 years. As well, Vera worked with Newton Advocacy Group Society for eight years, managing programs for some of our most vulnerable citizens, women survivors of abuse, people living in poverty and those who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness.
Vera lives in Surrey with her partner and is the proud parent of two grown children, and thrilled to be a grandmother to three.
